It's coming from a family of curves, each colored line (on left pic) shows the transient response of the sample to light of a specific set of wavelength generated by a very fast laser pulse (~3ns). So if one aligns both time axis, one can further see what the color code amplitude representation (on right pic) can do by adding the corresponding photon energies
